We encourage parents to do their homework, and keep their kids safe and healthy as they head back to school. Below is some valuable information to remind everyone of School Bus Safety so we have a safe school year.

Bus Safety Tips:

• An estimated 50,000 motor vehicles illegally pass New York State school buses every day.
• There were 69 student injuries and 1 death caused by motorists who passed stopped school buses between the years 2002 through 2004.
• It is illegal to pass a stopped school bus when the large red lights located on the top of the bus are flashing.
• You must stop whether you are approaching the school bus from either the front or the rear.
• You must always stop for flashing red lights even on divided and multilane highways as well as on school grounds.
